Goldberg's

I told you I want the candy - Goldberg's Peanut Eschews. Dark chocolate, peanuts and sticky nougat...mmm So good, especially at the movies.

I Want the Candy

Rave on with The Raveonettes! JR has been trying to get me to listen to them since their first release, Pretty in Black, but I have always eschewed him..until now. I guess I never realized they were such a sexy duo from Denmark.

The song that hooked me is The Last Dance, but I liked the below video better for some reason. You'll probably figure out that reason 4 seconds in.... I will never eschew again...

Minimalism at its best...The catchiest track by The xx

GaGa Ooo La La

Being a middle-aged man, nothing is more fun than embarrassing my 13 year old daughter. At the moment this entails me dancing in the kitchen wearing my white silk longjohns and mangling the lyrics to this Lady GaGa song at the top of my lungs...

And I can't lie; after watching this video, I'm more than just a little bit aroused...

Are You Ready to be Heartbroken?

I actually heard this song on the radio yesterday... It's not often you hear Camera Obscura on the radio. The best export out of Scotland since this band. Kidding of course. There are actually many great bands from Scotland, including one of my all-time favorites

This song is of course a response to fellow Glasgowians Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, off the classic Rattlesnakes LP, which so happens to be in my Top Ten All-Time.

When I bite into a York Peppermint Patty, I get the cool sensation of sitting in a work site johnny on a freezing winter morning..with the cool breeze sliding in under the door and the scent of the brand new urinal mint cake envelops me!...mmmmmm

Cyclops

This post is topical, since my son is currently reading the Odyssey.
But it is mainly in honor of the huge subterranean zit in the middle of my forehead.

And naturally, we give our libations in the form of music by Radiohead, whom I'm sure you've heard of...

The Funeral

Went to my first funeral of 2010 on Monday. Went to six in 2009.(RIP Rubbie, Nick, Joe, Ross, Dino & Michael). I wonder how many will go this year? We never know, do we?

Band of Horses, off my NYE 2006 Playlist. Play loudly.

Welcome to the High Life

Miller Nips - Nothing quite like 'em. The first beer I ever had. We won't say when or where. When a few empties start to gather, they can be used as quite an effective taunting instrument. And as I recall, the Warriors do come out to play...

jj n° 2

jj, a mysterious pop group from Sweden. We all know most things out of Sweden are good.

Things Will Never Be The Same Again. A bit Enya-ish but pleasant nonetheless.

They will be touring with The xx in the US this March

These Girls Fall Like Dominos

From a big snake to The Big Pink. You could say they go hand in hand...First featured here, this song's chorus could be my motto...

Or maybe not...

I Want to Make the Adventure Team

Happy Birthday

Oh my corazon! Released in the US 30 years ago on this date. Has it really been that long since I imagined I was Joe Strummer and that Ant was Mick Jones? Or was it vice versa? Lip syncing and air guitaring my way thru the entire double length LP. Showstoppers truly included my two fave Clash songs, Spanish Bombs and Lost in the Supermarket...A hockey stick my only prop, as it was useful as both a guitar and as a mic stand. I never did smash it tho..
